Dubai Basketball continued its impressive EuroLeague run with a commanding 75-93 victory over Virtus Bologna in Italy for EuroLeague Round 10, securing its seventh win of the season and extending its unbeaten away streak to four consecutive games.
The result also marked a historic first EuroLeague victory over the Italian side, as Dubai maintains its position in the top half of the standings with another impressive team performance. The night was particularly special for Tornike Shengelia, who returned to Bologna to face his former team, where he had previously enjoyed a successful spell.
Head coach Xavi Pascual named McKinley Wright, Džanan Musa, Dwayne Bacon, Tornike Shengelia and Mfiondu Kabengele in the starting five.
Dubai made a confident start in Bologna, setting the pace early through an impressive offensive display. Musa found his rhythm from beyond the arc, while Shengelia, returning to face his former team, made an immediate impact. Although Virtus responded towards the end of the opening quarter to close the gap, Dubai carried a 21–17 advantage into the first break.
The visitors continued to build momentum in the second quarter, taking control of the game with a strong collective performance. 2026/27 new-comer Jaron Blossomgame provided valuable energy off the bench, while Canadian center Kabengele dominated in the paint. Dubai's defensive discipline and execution at the other end helped extend the lead to 14 points, with the scoreboard reading 34-48 at half-time.
Dubai showed no signs of slowing down after the interval. Shengelia delivered an outstanding performance against his former side, while McKinley Wright continued to lead the offence with confidence. With contributions coming from across the roster, Dubai stretched its advantage to as many as 23 points, putting itself firmly in control heading into the final quarter.
Virtus attempted to mount a comeback in the closing stages, but Dubai remained composed and maintained its control of the contest. Pascual's side managed the game effectively to see out a convincing 75-93 victory, completing a fourth consecutive EuroLeague away win following previous successes against Baskonia, Olimpia Milano and Bayern Munich.
The victory was another testament to Dubai's collective strength, with seven players recording a Performance Index Rating (PIR) of more than 10. Džanan Musa led the way with an all-round contribution of eight points, four rebounds and five assists, finishing with a game-high 18 PIR to earn MVP honours.
Reflecting on the victory, head coach Xavi Pascual said: “Very happy for the win. So solid tonight, we controlled our turnovers. I want to congratulate Virtus fans also for how they congratulated Toko tonight.”
Dubai will now turn its attention to the ABA League, returning to action in three days against Mega Basket as the team looks to carry its winning momentum into its next challenge.
